About Rob A. Rutenbar

Rob A. Rutenbar is Senior Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Pittsburgh, where he has responsibility for Pitt’s research and innovation infrastructure. He was previously on the faculty at the University of Illinois and at Carnegie Mellon, and holds appointments in CS and ECE at Pitt.

His research focuses on tools for chip design and hardware for AI. He has mentored 50+ graduate students, received numerous awards for his work, and launched two successful tech startups.
