Former research group Glenn Ko (UIUC PhD 2017) has launched a new startup to deliver “AI as a Service” based on his extensive research as a graduate student at the University of Illinois, and as a post-doctoral researcher in Harvard’s John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS).
Glenn has built a wide range of novel hardware platforms to accelerate statistical inference, a core component of most modern machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence workloads. His new company, Stochastic.ai, plans to address the “huge gap between the research and what is actually being used in practice."
